The A330neo takes flight, powered by the Trent 7000 engine equipped with Aero Gearbox International’s accessory drive train. Congratulations to the teams!
"The Trent 7000 accessory drive train engine benefits from a modern architecture, the result of the experience of Safran Transmission Systems and Rolls-Royce, and the partnership built by the two companies to ensure the success of the program. Together, the AGI, Rolls-Royce and Safran Transmission Systems teams managed to meet the technical challenges according to the ambitious schedule of the client Airbus, and I commend them for this initial success! All our efforts will now focus on the industrialization of the program, and I don't doubt the determination of the teams to fulfil our commitments", stated Hélène Moreau-Leroy, CEO of Safran Transmission Systems.
"The Trent 7000 first flight is also the first flight of a gearbox designed and supplied by AGI to Rolls-Royce. When the Trent 7000 Program started, AGI was in its formation. Delivering the gearbox to support this first flight is a testimony of working together between AGI, Safran and Rolls-Royce we should be very proud of." pointed out Norbert Arndt, EVP Structures and Transmissions of Rolls-Royce.
"The constraint of the development schedule was a major challenge: the good communication between the Rolls-Royce, Safran Transmission Systems and AGI teams helped us meet the key milestones of the program. This cooperation was particularly remarkable in handling the altitude testing problems and made it possible to define, test and implement a solution in record time, a success highlighted by Airbus. Thanks to everyone!", added Laetitia Velluet, head of CLE (Civil Large Engine) programs, Aero Gearbox International.
"The Trent 7000 is Aero Gearbox International's first program: a successful take-off for the A330neo and our young joint venture. This success is the result of a close collaboration between Rolls-Royce, Safran Transmission Systems and AGI. My thanks to the teams for this success!", shared Etienne Boisseau, CEO of Aero Gearbox International.
